This year, I took Writing III& IV. This class was learning with computers. We learned how to write a blog and learned about computer. On this essay, I will write about before, during and after Writing III& IV.
Before Writing III&IV
I liked using computer before Writing III&IV because I liked searching a lot of home pages and playing online game. But, I was poor at typing because I didn’t know how to touch- typing. When I was a high school student, my teacher of information taught me touch- typing. I bought a soft of touch-typing and I practiced it every day. So, the speed of my typing became fast than before. However, this is only Japanese input.
During Writing III&IV
Writing III&IV is in English, of course. This class always tests the typing each other. The test is to check how long we can type in English in five minutes. I can type quickly in Japanese but I cannot do very well that in English. My typing speed is too late. Take the average; I type 70 words. I think it different from Japanese typing and English typing. I cannot type while thinking about an English sentence. Then, My typing becomes slower and slower. Therefore, I thought only typing that I type fast recently. Speed of my typing became fast than before. I’m so happy.
I came to like reading a book through this class. I read a lot of books during Writing III&IV. At first, I didn’t like reading English books, because it is difficult for me. But recently, I like reading book. I came to go to the library three times a week. Thanks to, Writing III&IV, my vocabulary is increasing. I think that it is killing two birds with one stone.
I like writing blog posts recently. I put a lot of my favorite pictures and media. It is very pleasant that I write blog for me. I thought that blog was the first troublesome. However, I knew the pleasure of writing blog.
After Writing III&IV
Before I took writing III & IV, I don’t like writing in English. It was difficult for me to write in English. During writing III & IV, I wrote a lot of sentences in English, so I like writing and reading in English. I would like to continue my blog after writing III & IV. I also would like to continue reading English books.

the late TV
Introduction
I like watching TV program very, very much. It is very important for us to watching TV program because we get a lot of information and call for entertainment though TV. In Japan have many broadcasting stations now, for example, TBS, TV Asahi, Fuji TV, NHK and so on, but When a broadcast began in 1953, the broadcasting station was only NHK. After that, many broadcasting stations appeared. I will talk about history of TV and late TV.
Body
When a broadcast began in 1953, the broadcasting station was only NHK. The broadcast of the color television began in 1960. However, the broadcast of the color TV was only one hour per day. I have heard how did you think about old TV. She said, ‘ It was hard to watch the old TV with black and white, but now, TV is big and a picture is clean by a color. TV is essential for us ’ I think it, too.
The TV is changing from analog broadcast to digital broadcast now. Japanese people call chideji. The TV of my house changed digital broadcasting, too. It was very convenient and because I understand the information that I want to know in a matter of seconds. For example, If you want to know about the weather outlook for tomorrow, when you push the d button, you can know the weather outlook for tomorrow immediately. This is called data broadcasting. The analog broadcast is abolished by 2011. I think that the digital broadcast spreads greatly. In addition, people buying TV will increase.
Recently, even a cell phone can watch TV. Japanese people call wansegu. The image is very beautiful. I don’t have a cell phone with TV. I want to cell phone with TV. I think it became very convenient.
Conclusion
Anyway, The TV has evolved into a powerful worldwide information and media. Then, I think the TV evolves more and more from now on. I want to expect a cleaner image and the TV of the sound quality.

Community activities
Introduction
I have lived in Kamidai, Kumamoto city for 6 years. There is Takahashi Inari Shrine near my house. It is held festival the first Horse Day of February every year. This festival’s name is called Hatsuuma.
By the way, when I was a high school student, I had learned about English conversation at Kumamoto City International Center for one year.
So, I will talk about Hatsuuma and Kumamoto City International Cent

First of all, I will talk about Hatsuuma. Takahashi Inari Shrine is one of the most famous shrines in Japan. I always visit there on the festival’s day with my family. First, we pay homage at Oinarisan,it means one of the God of Japan. Then, we buy Hamayumi, an arrow which avoid evil spirits or jinxes. After that, we went and saw around yatais, it means small stall sells grilled chicken, apple candy, grilled squid, cotton candy, octopus fritters, yakisoba, and stuff like that. The next day, when I was a high school student, I used to clean up the festival as a volunteer. There is scattered after the festival very much, so cleaning is very, very hard. After that, A Shinto priest gives us a charm for thanks. I thought that to volunteer is very important.
Second, I will talk about Kumamoto City International Center. There is in the center of Kumamoto City. When I was a high school student, I had learned about English conversation there. We can learn the language of not only the English but also various kinds language learns here. For example, Chinese, French, Korean and so on. I want to learn Korean because I like watching Korean movies. In addition, there are a lot of foreigners here, so if you can go there, you make a lot of friends.

Movie review: Toy story 1
Introduction
I have never watched “Toy story”, but I watched it. The animation movie, especially Disney animation movies didn’t interested me until I watched it because I can foresee the development of the story and foresee end of the story. However, “Toy story” was very good movie because I couldn’t foresee the development of the story and I thought that we were thought by this movie. For example, jealousy, treasure things and friends and so on.
I have never watched “Toy story”, but I watched it. The animation movie, especially Disney animation movies didn’t interested me until I watched it because I can foresee the development of the story and foresee end of the story. However, “Toy story” was very good movie because I couldn’t foresee the development of the story and I thought that we were thought by this movie. This movie won an Academy Special Achievement Award. Toy story was released by Disney in 1995. Director is John A. Lasseter and Voice appearances are Tom Hunks, Tim Allen. Of course, Tom Hunks is Woody, Tim Allen is Buzz.
There are many individual characters in this story. For example, Woody, Buzz, Mr. Potato head, Rex and so on. They are toys of Andy. Andy is 6 to 7 years old boy. He likes toys. His favorite toy is Woody, but one day, Buzz lightyear appears in front of him. What will he do? Sid is a boy living next to Andy’s home. His favorite thing is to break toys.

Woody tries to save him and it is start of the adventure. They went to planet pizza. Planet pizza is restaurant. They find Andy, but they are caught by Sid. They try to escape Sid’s house because he breaks toys. They succeeded in escaping from the house of Sid. And they could back to Andy’s house.
I have two favorite scenes. One scene, Woody is going to be jealous of Buzz lightyear because I sympathize with Woody. Not only the toy but also the human being has jealousy. I have jealousy, too, but I thought I want to throw away it because hurt my treasure friends by jealousy. The other is chase scene. As a last resort, They used rocket, I thought good idea it.
This story makes me exciting and think. I thought that I must treasure toys. This movie has second part. I want to watch “Toy story 2” someday. I thought animation movie was very good.

★Necessary places★
Introduction
I thought that the most favorite place in Kumamoto. After all I think that the most favorite place is my room. Amakusa and Hitoyoshi are the parent’s houses, so I often go to there. I think that therefore I like their places.
My room
I have my own room. My room has an eight-mats room. My room has many necessary things. Therefore it is very convenient. For example, there are a bed, a desk, a bookshelf, an air conditioner, and a piano. So I can spend every day comfortably. Many comic books are there because I like to read them when I have a free time. Recently, I’m addicted to read “Touch”. It is baseball comics. It is very interesting. So, I live in one's room by every day. Perhaps I may not be relaxed if I live in the room of the younger sister. Because it is not interfered a person, it is good to have my room.
Amakusa
My mother was born in Amakusa, so my grandparents live in there. I often go to Amakusa. The sea of Amakusa is very beautiful. A heart is healed very much when I watch the sea. In addition, I think that it is good to hear the song of seabird, too. Because fish and shellfish are fresh, it is very delicious. Amakusa can experience what I cannot experience in Kumamoto.
Hitoyoshi
My father was born in Hitoyoshi, so my grandparents live in there. I sometimes go to Hitoyoshi. That famous place is Kuma River. When I was little girl, I experienced Kuma River descent. I was very scare and thought that a ship overturned, so the ship’s roll made me sick. I was full of adventure. My grandparents have a dog. Her name is Nami. She has blue eye and brown eye. She is cute. When she and I take a walk around field, My heart is healed very much, so I’m looking forward to seeing her. Therefore, I like their place.
Conclusion
My favorite places were full of relax, healing, adventure and curiosity. I thought that I always seek relaxation, healing and sometimes adventure in the favorite place. I think that I’m not able to enjoy if lack even one of these elements. These places are necessary for me.

Kato Kiyomasa
Kato Kiyomasa served it as a vassal of Toyotomi Hideyoshi and he fought in one place after another in each place and showed a military exploit. He became a feudal lord of Higo Kumamoto. He became a vassal of Tokugawa in Hideyoshi posthumously and I gave a military exploit by a fight of Sekigahara and became Higo Kumamoto feudal lord.

There is Kumamoto castle in the center of Kumamoto. Another name is “Ginkgo castle. Kumamoto castle is famous castle in Japan. The characteristic of Kumamoto castle is Musya-gaeshi. It is the wall that warped diagonally. The wall is made of a lot of stones. This wall was made to prevent a samurai from entering in a castle. In addition, Musya-gaeshi is sold as a Japanese cake. The view to watch from the castle tower is very beautiful.
Memorial Festival
There are some events because Kumamoto castle was built for four hundreds years ago. Every year, in Knmamoto castle has same festivals to see cherry blossoms and morning glory. However, this year’s events are held special festivals which are Japanese traditional dances in every season. I want to appreciate the dance because I have never seen it.

Kumamoto is known as the birthplace of Horse meat. In Kumamoto, we eat raw horse meat. We call it “Basashi”. I think to eat Basashi is unusual custom. We soak it in soy sauce and eat. Some people eat with the spices such as grated ginger or the leek. There may be the person saying that I feel sorry for a horse. I think it is right. But how about cow, pig, fish and so on. We eat many animals. Horse meat is same thing. Horse meat is popular as a souvenir. You can also get a horse meat pie as a souvenir.
Chinese noodles
There are many restaurants of Chinese noodles in Kumamoto. In particular, Tamana’s Chinese noodles is famous nationwide. This soup made from bone of pigs. Cook it stow for a long time. This soup’s taste is rich.
Sweets
Koubai is the most famous sweets shop in Kumamoto. “Jindaiko” is best sweets in this shop. It is sweet bean jelly and including bean paste. I think it is more popular among elder people than young people. It will be very pleased when you bring as a gift.
“Ikinari dango” is also famous Kumamoto sweets. It is local sweets of Kumamoto. It is made by mother and grand mother for long time in Kumamoto. Its recipe is easy. First, you cook crust. You mix salt and water into flour and knead them. After you knead, it is left around 30 minutes. Meanwhile, peel sweet potato and cut for a bite size. Next, you put bean paste on a piece of sweet potato. May be it taking 30 minutes from the beginning. So it is good time to use crust. You divide crust equally for the right size. Then you wrap a piece of sweet potato and bean paste with crust. Finally you steam them. Actually “Ikinari” mean easy in Kumamoto dialect.

People living in Kumamoto has a character which many people mains other people’s careers. Most of them ask people’s careers even if they have never met before. I think we must not decide people’s character with several careers because we should be fair.

Natume Souseki
He was a famous novelist in Japan. He stayed in Kumamoto because he taught English in Kumamoto University. He was wrote many novels before he died forty nine years old. His works are “Bottyan”, “I’m a cat”, “Sanshiro”, and “Kokoro”. They are read by many people now. I think his works is so difficult for me when I read them. Because he had an experience that he lived in Great Britain, I am interested in his novels.
Yukisada Isao
He is a movie director. He was born in Kumamoto and graduated from Kumamoto Daini high school. Most popular of his works is “GO”. He became very famous because he made it. I like his movies. Especially, my favorite one is “Spring Snow” because I have ever read the original novel. This movie’s image and story is very good. I made my mind move when I finished watching this movie. If you have a chance, you should watch it.
Historical culture fortunes
Bridge of water
Kumamoto has a big bridge of water. The name is “tujyunkyo” in Japanese. It is in Yamato town. It is an aqueduct of the water by putting a lot of rocks together built over the valley. Futa Yasunosuke who was a village headman all-out of the hometown made a plan in building and recruited a fund. It is chosen to 100 selections of an irrigation canal of Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
Stone stairs of 3333
Kumamoto has a stone stairs of 3333 in Misato town. It’s the longest in Japan. The stone stairway construction starts it from January 1980 and overtook 2,446 steps of Yamagata Mt. Haguro in November 1985. And Kumamoto’s stone stairs became number one in Japan, and it is completed in the end of March 1988. It is 3,333 steps of number of the total steps.
Yamaga’s garden lantern festival
This festival is annual festival. It held in every summer. Many women who from or live in Yamaga city are dance. They put a garden on them head. It is very beautiful. Every year many people come to watch this festival. I heard this dance is very difficult and hard work for women. They practice many times. Someone who was born in Yamaga city and graduate from Yamaga junior-high school and Yamaga high school can only dance on the stage. On same day, we can watch fireworks near the dance stage.
Conclusion
Kumamoto Castle was build by Kato Kiyomasa since 400 years ago. This Castle’s outside is very beautiful and it is very famous in Japan. Now, memorial events are hold in Kumamoto Castel. House meat is very famous as local dishes of Kumamoto. Chinese noodles and Ikinari dango are also famous food and they are popular food in Kumamoto. Kumamoto is famous as the capital of the water. He is a movie director. He was born in Kumamoto and graduated from Kumamoto Daini high school. Most popular of his works is “GO”. He became very famous because he made it. I like his movies. Especially, my favorite one is “Spring Snow” because I have ever read the original novel. This movie’s image and story is very good. I made my mind move when I finished watching this movie. If you have a chance, you should watch it.

Bridge of water
Kumamoto has a big bridge of water. The name is “tujyunkyo” in Japanese. It is in Yamato town. It is an aqueduct of the water by putting a lot of rocks together built over the valley. Futa Yasunosuke who was a village headman all-out of the hometown made a plan in building and recruited a fund. It is chosen to 100 selections of an irrigation canal of Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
Stone stairs of 3333
Kumamoto has a stone stairs of 3333 in Misato town. It’s the longest in Japan. The stone stairway construction starts it from January 1980 and overtook 2,446 steps of Yamagata Mt. Haguro in November 1985. And Kumamoto’s stone stairs became number one in Japan, and it is completed in the end of March 1988. It is 3,333 steps of number of the total steps.
Yamaga’s garden lantern festival
This festival is annual festival. It held in every summer. Many women who from or live in Yamaga city are dance. They put a garden on them head. It is very beautiful. Every year many people come to watch this festival. I heard this dance is very difficult and hard work for women. They practice many times. Someone who was born in Yamaga city and graduate from Yamaga junior-high school and Yamaga high school can only dance on the stage. On same day, we can watch fireworks near the dance stage.
Conclusion
Kumamoto Castle was build by Kato Kiyomasa since 400 years ago. This Castle’s outside is very beautiful and it is very famous in Japan. Now, memorial events are hold in Kumamoto Castel. House meat is very famous as local dishes of Kumamoto. Chinese noodles and Ikinari dango are also famous food and they are popular food in Kumamoto. Kumamoto is famous as the capital of the water. Kumamoto City is blessed with water and it is very delicious because minerals melt in it. We have to save our precious water. Most of people in Kumamoto are use Kumamoto dialect, because we like our dialect. Kumamoto has a lot of famous person, for instance Natume Souseki, Yukisada Isao, and so on. Kumamoto has a lot of historical culture fortunes too. For example bridge of water, stone stairs, Yamaga’s garden lantern festival and so on.
Kumamoto has really a lot of specific characteristics. I think we can proud of that. I think Kumamoto is a very good prefecture

Gmail and writing studio blog
Gmail is very important for me because I try to reach Prof. Beaufait and many people. At first, I did not know Gmail. But, now I understand how to use a Gmail.

Movies
I like movies very much. Especially, I like the movie that Johnny Depp appears. For example, Sleepy Hollow, Nick of time, What's eating Gilbert Grape, Neverland, Charlie and the chocolate factory and Pirates of the Caribbean. I watched all these movies. I think that his all movies are splendid. I recommend, of course, Pirates of the Caribbean. Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow is very cool. At world's end is now showing. I watched this movie twice in the movie theater. It was very excited, interesting. But, it was difficult for me to understand this movie. So, I recommend that you watch this movie twice. If you don't yet watch this movie, you should watch it.
Now I remember, I applied for part-time job in the movie theater yesterday. I don't yet understand the result. But I want to work there. I applied for part-time job last year, then I didn't pass. But, this time I want to work there at all cost. Do you pass it?

Kumamoto
I will introduce about Kumamoto. Kumamoto is my hometown. I like Kumamoto very much. I talk about Kumamoto castle, the groundwater Kumamoto’s food. When you finish reading my blog, you will like Kumamoto.
Kumamoto castle
I talk about Kumamoto castle. It was built about 400 years ago. A lot of events are taking place in Kumamoto castle because 400 years passed this year since Kumamoto was built. I went out to see the cherry blossoms at Kumamoto castle in this spring vacation with English Lounge member. When I watched it, I thought it was very big, beautiful. I went up the castle tower. It was very beautiful view. If you can go up the castle tower, please go up it.
Groundwater
I talk about groundwater. Kumamoto is famous for groundwater. It is very delicious. When I went to Nagasaki in school trip, I drank water in Nagasaki. I remember that water didn’t good taste. I think that water of Kumamoto is the best in Japan. I’m very happy because I can drink ground water of Kumamoto. But I waste groundwater recently. Groundwater is one of the limited resources. So we should use groundwater carefully.

I talk about Kumamoto’s food. Kumamoto has a lot of food. For example, lotus roots of mustard taste (Karashirenkon), basashi, taipien, Kumamoto’s Chinese noodle and so on. My parent’s likes these foods. I like taipien, Chinese noodle, but I don’t like basashi. Maybe I don’t like to smell of basashi. Do you like basashi? But some travelers buy these foods as a souvenir from Kumamoto.

My favorite (＾皿＾)
I’ll write about my favorite things; music, country, food.
First, I'll write about music. My favorite music are J-pop, Western music and classical music. I always listen to music when I go to university. My favorite singer are Avril Lavigne, Madonna, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and SMAP.Their music gives me spirit. So, I like them.
I can play the piano. I can play anything if I watch score. It is my only pride.
Second, I'll write about country. My favorite countries are China, America, France, and Spain. About China, I learn to Chinese in class. I want to go to China, because China will hold Olympic and I have a friend who lives in China. But, I have never been to foreign country. So, I want to go to many foreign countries. I took a Spanish last year. I want to go to Spain because I want to see Sagulada Familire. About France and America, I'd like to tour, too. So I'd like to tour many countries.
Finally, I'll write about food. My favorite food is SUSHI, of course. I like SUSHI very very much. (^3^) My grandparent's lives in Amakusa. In Amakusa, fish is fresh. So My grandparent's sometimes sends a fish to me. It is very delicious. Therefore, I like SUSHI. My best recommendation is salmon roe. Please eat it! (222 words)

Campus life
I’m second grade university student. My major is English. I learned English, cultural anthropology, Chines, sociology, Japanese history and so on.
I participated in many events last year. For example, freshmen camp, All English weekend, Halloween party and so on. I can’t forget my memories. My best memory is All English weekend because I became a lot of overseas student. My best overseas student is Kaka. She is from China. But she came back to China. I missed her. But I sometimes interchange e-mail with her. Thanks to her, I learned to Chines in class now. I enjoyed Chines. But it is difficult for me to study because pronunciation is difficult and unique. But do oneself best!!
I live in Kumamoto, near round one. I go to school by bus. It takes 50 minutes to school.I can’t get up early, so I don’t go to school once in a while. Tell me, how can you get up early? This is my worry resent.

Hi, I'm Mami.
Hi, I'm Mami from Japan. I'm a university student. My major is English. My hobbies are playing soft-ball tennis, watching movies and playing the piano.
